Don't settle for average
I talk to God almost every single day and one of my main prayer
request of recent has been for God to reveal to me why I am here. What is my
purpose? What is my calling? It’s good to have things going for you, opportunities
coming your way, doors opening, but it means nothing if God is not behind it. It
means nothing if it’s not in Gods will for you. It’s not fully clear what Gods
will for each individual is but what we do know is that God has a plan for us
all and he wants us to prosper. He won’t leave us to figure it out on our own,
he will direct us. What I’ve realised is that when it comes to God revealing things
to us he shows it one step at a time. Therefore, we just have to keep praying to
him, seeking him and letting him lead the way for us. Taking the days as they come
and thanking him for it.
I don’t want my successes or my achievements to be
worthless. I want God to be behind and for everything that I choose to do, that
is why I pray.
Not long after that prayer request, another prayer came to
mind. I spoke to God again and I told him, I don’t want to be average in this
life. I want my life to be meaningful. I don’t want to be here for the sake of
it. Surely there is more to life than the life we know. Don’t get me wrong, I
am happy with where I currently am. I feel like even during a pandemic, doors
have been opening for me. I feel like I’m in the right place at the right time,
doing what makes me feel happy, whilst still striving and working towards the next
step. But what can I do next? What else is there to discover? What more can I
learn?
One thing I’ve learnt is that you should never stay comfortable
with where you’re at even if it does make you content because there is so much
more out there that has not been exposed to you yet. Not just looking on the
outside but inwardly, there is so much talents and abilities within you that
you don’t even know about. If you’re reading this, take this as a sign that
whether you are in a good place or not there is so much more work to be done. So
much more you can learn from life, so much more you can learn about yourself, so
much more that you can achieve.
There are going to be days where you feel like giving up. I’ve
had those days and more of those days will most probably come because its
normal to feel like that, but don’t let one or two bad days stop you completely.
You’ve got to keep going. Push for greatness and nothing less. Don’t stop
striving for the best. The sky is not the limit, you can go above and beyond.
‘Don’t settle for average, you were made for greatness.’ –
Victoria Osteen
That’s a good message. If we open the book of our life to God, He will rewrite it for greatness.
