Change part 2. How to accept change

In my previous blog I wrote about how change can be an uncomfortable experience, however it is important as individuals to go through it and embrace every single change that happens in our lives.   (If you haven’t read “change” please read that first).  The question is how?  How can we accept change? How can we embrace it?  Feeling the emotion  One thing is to let yourself feel every single emotion that you’re feeling at the time. If you feel sad, scared, worried, anxious, angry, however you’re feeling, don’t try to avoid or suppress it. Let your emotions out, feel how you need to feel, write it down, express it to someone you’re comfortable talking to and pray about it.  As we know going through changes in life is not an easy process but suppressing your emotions, covering up how you really feel will only make it harder to accept the change happening.       2. Coming to a point of acceptance  At some point you need to get to a stag...

Change

In life there is always going to be change whether we like it or not. Seasons change, your circle of friends change, your surroundings change, you even change. Your mindset elevates, you develop a better understanding of certain things that you couldn’t quite comprehend before.   Change is all apart of life. It is inevitable. Even though we don’t see it at the time, change helps us as individuals to develop into the person we are called to be. It pushes us closer to our purpose. Change is necessary for growth.  However, change doesn’t always feel good and can be looked at in a negative light. Sometimes we don’t like change, especially when we’re comfortable. Change removes that feeling of comfort, it removes that feeling of certainty and stability. Change is unknowing and can create feelings of anxiety and worrisome. Change is something that happens daily but can be very hard to cope with.  Though change can be an uncomfortable experience, it is essential. We may not unde...

Words Of Affirmation

Read aloud: I truly believe that God is putting together all the right pieces for me. I don’t know how he’s doing it and I don’t know what is going to happen next in my life but I know with each and every step I take, I’m walking into what is meant for me. I’m walking into greatness. I’m walking into success. I’m walking into an abundance of blessings. I’m walking into prosperity. I’m walking into joy. I am walking into peace. I am letting go of the past. I am walking into my purpose. I am walking into my calling. I am letting go of negative thoughts. I am the happiest I have ever been. I am stronger than I have ever been. I am the healthiest I have ever been. I am loved. I am cared for. I am thankful for everything that I have. I will achieve all my goals. God is on my side I cannot fail. Nothing is impossible.  Proverbs 17:22 A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of ...

Don't settle for average

I talk to God almost every single day and one of my main prayer request of recent has been for God to reveal to me why I am here. What is my purpose? What is my calling? It’s good to have things going for you, opportunities coming your way, doors opening, but it means nothing if God is not behind it. It means nothing if it’s not in Gods will for you. It’s not fully clear what Gods will for each individual is but what we do know is that God has a plan for us all and he wants us to prosper. He won’t leave us to figure it out on our own, he will direct us. What I’ve realised is that when it comes to God revealing things to us he shows it one step at a time. Therefore, we just have to keep praying to him, seeking him and letting him lead the way for us. Taking the days as they come and thanking him for it. I don’t want my successes or my achievements to be worthless. I want God to be behind and for everything that I choose to do, that is why I pray. Not long after that prayer req...

Don’t lose yourself in the process

If I’ve learnt anything about life, it’s you can’t let the actions of others affect you. Don’t let anyone affect your happiness, don’t let them steal your joy and don’t let them steal your peace. It can be easier said than done because it can hurt when you lose the people closest to you who you thought would be there for a lifetime. The ones you thought would never turn on you, turn on you. The ones you thought would never treat you unfairly, do exactly that.   People come and people go. The sooner you learn this the better. Sometimes I have to repeat this to myself . ‘’People come and people go, people come and people go, people come and go.’’ I have to remind myself this. Sometimes people are only in your life for a season then its time to move on. Even if that’s not what you want. You can’t control what others decide to do. You can only control yourself and how you decide to react and deal with it. And overtime I’ve noticed within myself; depending on the individual I can e...

Chapter 24

Monday 17th February 1997 where it all started.  Here's to chapter 24!  I am so excited about this new chapter in my life. I am optimistic and positive that it will be good to me. I have so much goals that I want to achieve in this new stage and I know that with God on my side I will get them all done.  I've been asked the question; 'How does it feel being 24?!' And I can truly say, it honestly feels amazing. It's a different feeling from all the other years. I am stepping into my true self. Walking into my purpose. Understanding and learning so much more about myself. I am able to express myself so much better. I feel closer to God than ever before. I have the most supportive family and friends who have seen me develop into the woman I am today. They have seen my growth just as much as I have seen it within myself. They see how I have struggled with certain things but still manage to keep going and even though there are certain things I wish I could change, start o...

Let failure inspire you

So I am back with another blog. This is crazy to me because I went from not even thinking about blogging, to now publishing my third blog this month. But that’s the thing about God, you never really know what he’s got up his sleeve for you, you never know what he’s got planned for you or how he’s working in you. He will reveal things to you, show you things you’ve never seen, talents that you never knew you had, strength that you didn’t know you had and so much more.  Writing blogs was not in my list of things I wanted to do in this year 2021. To be very honest it was far from it.  However, I am so happy that I have started and I am so happy that my first blog has encouraged many to keep looking to God and finding their purpose in this life. (Please read 2021 the year of allowing God to work in my life).  Furthermore, I’m so glad some of you have been able to relate to my university blog. (Please read the truth about second year of University). It makes me feel like I was...
